Privacy policy

Bucket is operated by The Truth Organization LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Bucket mobile app and this website, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

Information you give us

• Account details. An email address and display name when you create an account.
• Saved places. The locations you save as Pins, the Buckets you sort them into, and any notes or labels you add.
• Shared content. Links or posts you share into Bucket so we can pull a location out of them.

Location information

Bucket’s proximity reminders need to know roughly where you are. With your permission, the app checks your device location in the background and compares it against the places you have saved.

• Location permission is optional. Bucket works without it; you will not receive proximity reminders.
• You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings, and the app will stop checking.
• We use your location only to check whether you are near a place you have saved. We do not use it to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell it.
• We keep location data no longer than is needed to deliver proximity reminders.

Information collected automatically

• Device and app data. Device type, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier used for push notifications.
• Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic usage events, so we can find and fix problems.

How we use it

• To save, organise, and display your places.
• To send proximity reminders and other notifications you have turned on.
• To let you share a Bucket with people you choose.
• To keep the service working, secure, and free of abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your saved places or location to serve you advertising.

Service providers

We use third-party services to run Bucket. They only receive what they need to do their job:

• Google Firebase — accounts, database, crash reporting, and push notifications.
• Google Maps Platform — place search, place details, and maps.

As Bucket develops we may add other providers, for example for analytics or email delivery. We will update this policy and the date at the top of this page before any such change takes effect.

Sharing with other people

When you share a Bucket, the people you share it with can see the places in it and any notes you have added. They cannot see your location or your other Buckets. You can stop sharing at any time.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your account, your Pins, and your Buckets from our systems within 90 days, except where we are required to keep records by law.

To request deletion without opening the app, email support@gotbucket.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Email support@gotbucket.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children

Bucket is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
